Tandy's first attempt at an Intel/MS-DOS computer was not IBM compatible. (although close.) It made several significant improvements over the IBM PC such as the faster 80186 CPU, 600 x 400 x 16c graphics and 720k per floppy. These features made the 2000 an ideal machine for CAD, or number crunching. Unfortunately, the market by this time demanded IBM compatibility. IBMs AT (80286) in 1984 put the final nail in the 2000s coffin.
