The Commodore PET was available even before the TRS- 80, but it lacked the huge distribution channel that Radio Shack had. The 2001/8k was followed by the 2001/B featuring a full-sized keyboard with no graphics, and the 2001/N featuring a full-sized keyboard with graphics. The original PET 2001 was available in a 4k version by special order. The 'N' was available in 8k, 16k and 32k while the 'B' was only available in 16k and 32k. The original PET 2001 was the only model with a built-in tape drive.
