If riding in an airplane is flying then riding in a boat is swimming. If you want to experience the medium, you must first get out of the vehicle.

I'm not sure who said that (please send me email if you know), but I have come to see the truth in it. I think that terminal velocity freefall is the closest thing to flight that I will ever experience.

That's me in the blue helmet, getting a gear check. The airplane is a Cessna 206, affectionately known as Suzy-Q (from the call letters).

I jump with Prairie Skymasters Parachute Club, in Wakaw, Saskatchewan. PSM is affiliated with the Canadian Sport Parachute Association (CSPA). I hold an 'A' license. (A-4343) 'A' is the lowest license after student status. 'E' is the highest license. I currently have 51 jumps. 48 are from the C-206, one from a C-170 and two from a Piper Chieftain. All but two jumps were on Manta parachutes. The other two were on a Raider. (Manta's little brother.)

I'd strongly encourage everyone to try this exhilarating sport. In Canada, check out a CSPA affiliated DZ (drop zone) near you. In the USA, look for a USPA affiliated DZ. And most of all... Have Fun.
